US Open 2026 schedule, day by day
Every date from the first day of Fan Week to the men singles final, with the rounds that fall on each of the fifteen main draw days. Dates come from the official USTA event schedule. Start times for individual matches are published the evening before and appear on our order of play page.
Fan Week and qualifying, 23 to 29 August
Qualifying is free to attend and fills sixteen main draw places on each side. The Mixed Doubles Championship, a sixteen team event, is played inside this week rather than during the main draw.

Main draw, 30 August to 13 September
Fifteen days. The four finals dates below are confirmed on the official schedule and are highlighted in the table. The round labels on the other days follow the pattern a fifteen day slam normally runs, and the USTA can move them: a rain day, a long night session or a broadcast request all shift rounds. Treat the highlighted rows as fixed and the rest as the expected shape.

How the days are structured
Arthur Ashe Stadium sells two sessions a day, a day session and a night session, and they are separate tickets. Louis Armstrong Stadium and the outer courts run one continuous programme from the day session start.
Men singles is best of five sets, women singles and every doubles event is best of three. A deciding set at six games all is settled by a ten point tiebreak in all events including qualifying. Both roofed courts can close in under ten minutes, so rain rarely stops the show courts. It does stop the other fifteen or so match courts, and that is what pushes a schedule back a day.

When does the US Open 2026 start?
Two different answers, depending on what you mean. Fan Week and qualifying begin on Sunday 23 August 2026. Main draw singles play begins a week later on Sunday 30 August 2026. usopen.org
When is the US Open 2026 final?
The women singles final is Saturday 12 September 2026 and the men singles final is Sunday 13 September 2026. The women doubles final is played on Friday 11 September and the men doubles final shares Saturday with the women singles final. usopen.org event schedule
Why is the US Open 15 days long in 2026?
The tournament moved to a Sunday start, so the main draw runs Sunday 30 August to Sunday 13 September, fifteen days instead of the traditional fourteen. The extra day spreads the first round across three days rather than two and gives both singles finals their own weekend day.
When is the US Open draw made?
The draw is made in the days between the end of qualifying on Thursday 27 August and the start of main draw play on Sunday 30 August. The USTA has not published a time for the 2026 draw ceremony. Seeds are confirmed at that point, not before. Our projected seeds page tracks who is in line for which seed until then.
What time do matches start each day?
Arthur Ashe Stadium runs a day session and a separate ticketed night session. Outer courts play through from the day session start. The official order of play for a given day is published the evening before, which is why no site can tell you in advance which court a specific player gets. Where is the US Open played?
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York. Two courts have retractable roofs, Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium. Grandstand and every outer court are open air, so rain moves those matches rather than delaying only the show courts.
