How this table is calculated
A player's ranking is the total they scored over the last 52 weeks. When a tournament comes round again, the points they won at it a year ago come off, and whatever they score this time goes on. The projection applies that swap the moment a result is in, rather than waiting for the tours to publish on Monday.
Projected total = official total − points dropping this week + points won this week
A player with no points in play keeps their official total. They can still move, because the players around them are moving. Points are taken from the WTA ranking chart in the 2026 WTA Official Rulebook, Section VIII.A.5, and a player still in the draw is credited only with the round they have already come through, never with a result they have not yet won.
This table covers the official top 100. A player projected to fall outside it is shown at the foot of the list rather than at their true position, and qualifying points and withdrawals before a first match are not modelled.
Frequently asked questions
What are live WTA rankings?
They are the WTA singles rankings recalculated during play, rather than the official list which only changes when the tour publishes it. Every completed match at a tournament in progress moves the projection immediately, so the table shows where a player would stand if the week ended now.
Which tournaments affect the WTA live rankings this week?
Toronto. Only events in progress can move the table. Points from tournaments that finished before the 3 August 2026 list are already in the official totals.
How often does this WTA live ranking update?
It is rebuilt every hour while tournaments are running, and again in a deeper pass overnight. The timestamp at the top of the page is the last recalculation.
Why does this differ from the official ranking?
The official WTA list is frozen between publication days. This page applies the results that have already happened since then, so the two only agree at the moment a new official list comes out.
Do these projected points count?
They count once the tour publishes. The arithmetic is the same one the tours use, so barring a retirement, a walkover or a scoring correction, the projection is what the next official list will say for the players shown.
