How they play

Playing style

Darderi is a baseline clay-court specialist with a powerful serve and heavy forehand as primary weapons. Right-handed with two-handed backhand, he generates depth and pace from both wings, using speed and movement to extend rallies and wear down opponents. His tactical identity revolves around consistent pressure on clay, though he shows potential on faster surfaces with serve and aggression.

Serve
Possesses a powerful serve averaging 5+ aces per match, winning 72% of first-serve points and 52% on second serves. Effective placement and speed make it a key weapon, especially on clay.
Groundstrokes
Forehand is a major weapon with penetrating pace and depth; runs around to hit it often. Solid, consistent backhand provides balance, enabling long baseline exchanges.
Movement
Excellent speed and explosiveness allow strong court coverage and defense. Slides effectively on clay, turns defense to offense quickly; prefers clay but adapts well.
Weakness
Limited success on hard courts (lower win percentage) and struggles to break through in tournaments above ATP 250 level against top competition.
