What's at stake in 2026
As one of the four Grand Slams, this is the highest-paying tournament of the season and the largest ranking-points haul on tour: 2,000 points to the singles winners. The two-week, best-of-five (men) format means depth and durability matter as much as form.
2025 men's final: Jannik Sinner d. Carlos Alcaraz 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4
2025 women's final: Iga Świątek d. Amanda Anisimova 6-0 6-0
The Wimbledon starts in 53 days. The draw lands a few days before the first ball is struck and lands here as soon as it is set.
The conditions
Grass keeps the ball low and cuts the rally short. A single break can decide a set, and footwork has to be quieter, the surface punishes a slip or an over-commitment. In London the ball is alive after the bounce, serve quality usually decides who reaches the second week.
The only Grand Slam still played on grass and the only one with a strict all-white dress code. Centre Court's roof and Court 1's roof allow night completion.
Storylines for 2026
- Sinner defends the men's title he won in 2025.
- Iga Swiatek arrives as 2025 Wimbledon champion, her first SW19 crown.
- Grass courts mean shorter rallies, big serves, and the whitest dress code in sport.
